New Orleans City Sports live streaming reporting on high school sports for the school year 2024-25 ends this weekend with the LHSAA Division I Semifinal Series between District 9-5A-Rival Brother Martin and Holy Cross.

The reporting on CCS from Tiger Park on the Holy Cross campus begins with game 1 of the best-of-3 series on Thursday evening. The first pitch is planned for 6:30 p.m. with a broadcast time at 6:20 a.m. Game 2 is planned on Friday at 6:30 p.m. with a third and decisive game at 2 p.m. on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Ken Trahan and Marty Luquet from CCS will describe the campaign for the opening game, while Trahan and Kirk Bullinger will name the rest of the weekend series.

The third brother Martin (29-6) swept Pineville and Ponchatoula to reach the semi-finals to extend his winning streak to 12 games, while No. 2 Saatgut Holy Cross (31-4) released sweeps from St. Pauls and Acadiana to lead his victory strip to 10.

The Tigers deserved a head start of the home field this weekend because they were the higher seeds, but the crusaders won the Holy Cross with 7: 1 and 5: 0 on the way to winning the 9-5a title in March. Brother Martin won nine of the last 10 meetings in the series.

The winner of the series of this weekend will either compete in Sulphur in Sulphur with the Catholic high-4 seeds of St. Thomas More in the State Championship series. Brother Martin has been looking for his first final borrowing place since winning the 1996 state championship in class 5a, while Holy Cross has been trying to reach the championship for the first time since 2012 in class 4a.

With the head-to-head match of this weekend, District 9-5a is insured with a team in the championship round for the eighth after-season in a row.
