Ohio State Trend in the right direction for two Top 2026 Linebacker – Buckeye Sports Bulletin

In class 2026, the Buceyes have not obtained no obligation by a linebacker, but that does not mean that there are no progress in the position.

On Wednesday, the four-star linacker Cincere Johnson restricted his scholarship list to the three top three, which also includes the state of Ohio together with Alabama and Penn State. Cleveland Glenville's product has official visits to all three schools and will probably wait until he made his final decision.

It is no secret that the state of Glenville's pipeline has paid dividends for Buckeyes to Ohio over the years, and Johnson could be the next player on this list. He is the view of number 101 in the country, Linebacker No. 6 and No. 3 players in the state of Ohio according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

The Buckeyes also lead with Tyler Atkinson, Linebacker No. 1 in the country and player No. 8 in the class. In an interview with Marc Givler from Buckeye Huddle on Tuesday, Atkinson said that the state of Ohio was at the top of his list due to the relationships he built with the school.

Atkinson comes from Georgia, so it could be difficult to pull the five-star away from the state, but OSU is as good as at this point for the extremely talented supporter.

LineBackers coach James Laurinaitis had a great first year as a LineBacker trainer when it came to recruiting class 2025 and Riley Pettijohn, Tarvos Alford and Eli Lee, who were all enrolled with the buckeyes and had good spring camps at an early stage.

Now Laurinaitis is trying to repeat this a year later, and it seems to be in the right direction for the coach in the second year.
