The study emphasizes the connection between adverse experience in childhood and suicide youth

A recently carried out dissertation shows that adverse childhood experiences such as abuse and neglect arrange young people for suicide. Girls had a higher risk of a suicide event that occurred during treatment and the risk of suicidality.

Adolescent suicide is an important problem in public health in the USA. In the general youthful population, extensive studies on suicide (thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts, etc.) have been carried out, but less is known about suicide among the endangered young people or is exposed to adverse childhood experiences.

Negative experiences in childhood include things such as domestic violence, abuse (physical, sexual or emotional), neglect (physically or emotional) and chaotic home environment, and they are more likely to occur.

Young people endangered young people receive treatment of behavioral and mental illnesses more often in the community in clinics that are underfunded and understaffed. This is worrying, since endangered young people have more serious symptoms of behavior and psychological disorders and are difficult to treat even in the well-equipped clinics. “

Karen L. Celedonia, doctoral student at the University of Turku, Finland

With a mixture of quantitative and qualitative research methods, she examined factors and factors that predicted suicidality and suicide events in endangered young people who received behavioral and psychological health services in the community in the United States.

Her research also examined properties that contribute to a strong therapeutic alliance between endangered young people who received behavioral and psychiatric services, and their therapists and the use of self-murder-risk recognition systems embedded in social media.

Many suicide events occurred despite negative risk screening when recording

The research results showed that the thoughts of suicide and suicide attempt in endangered young people were twice and triple that of the general youth population. Sexual abuse was a strong predictor of suicide.

The average time of the suicide event according to the risk of suicidality in the inclusion of behavioral and psychiatric services was around 6 months, and young people who were negative to the suicidality risk when they were taken up had a long period of time until a suicide event occurred.

The female gender was a predictor of a suicide event that occurred during the treatment, and interestingly, almost half of the young people who presented a suicide event had a negative examination of the risk of suicidality.

“This could possibly be explained by the therapeutic alliance between young people and their therapists who were not fully formed when recording.

Five qualities were identified by therapists who offer behavioral and psychological health services for endangered young people who contribute to a strong therapeutic alliance between themselves and their endangered youth: ecosystem approach; Strong working alliance; Professionalism; Warmth and support; And open communication. Heat and support were regarded by therapists as the most important and most experienced quality.

The analysis of social media suicide-risk recognition systems showed legal, ethical and cultural concerns, which include the violation of the GDPR in Europe and Hipaa in the United States and the stigma that was associated with mental disorders, especially in countries with low and medium income.

The results of Doctoral Research at Celedonia can help other community-related behavioral and psychiatric organizations to improve the detection and treatment of suicide in endangered young people.

“Based on the results, it would be advisable to implement the routine-suicidal risk risk screening after admission in behavioral and mental health services, regardless of how a young person in view of the high prevalence of suicidality in risk in the absorption of risk youth. Using the intake of treatment approaches, through suicide, the self -midity that can prove the treatment of treatment, the goal of increasing suicide, the goal of the absorption of suicidality, possibly through suicidality.

More comprehensive effects of research include the focus on the prevention of sexual abuse in children and adolescents as well as the provision of more support for mental health and resources for young people.
