Clearwater Ferry promotes the service after a fatal crash

Clearwater, Florida – more than a week after a fatal boat accident, the Clearwater Ferry resumed service on Thursday.

The Clearwater Ferry introduced the young family between Clearwater and Clearwater Beach under a blue sky and calm waters.

“We just wanted to go on a trip and explore some new areas,” said Nikki Young.

It was the first time the family on the ferry. They have also been to the first guests since a fatal crash.

One person killed a collision on the water over a week ago and injured several others. The Ferry service was subsequently suspended for a few days.

The Pinella's Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) said that security was a top priority, and in its ten years of operation, the Clearwater ferry had never experienced an incident or injury before April 27.

“Very sad,” said Daniel Young. “We have been here for many years and have not really heard of something like that, hoping that it will not happen again.”

On Thursday, the intersection of the boat Monica led from the crossing of hold to stop. PSTA said it was not involved in the crash.

“It was a great journey, smooth. Everyone was friendly and it was a great experience,” said Nikki.

“It was a great, smooth ride and very relaxing,” said Daniel.

According to PSTA, the Ferry operators checked their procedures and ships proactively, while the US Coast Guard carried out security inspections.

“I think it's a great way to move away, especially if you want to park there if you don't want to drive,” said Daniel. “I think it's a safe ferry. It doesn't work very quickly, as we said, and I think it's completely sure to drive it, so I would definitely recommend it.”

The crash is still being examined.
