The mayor of Lansing, police chief, gives updates from the MLK BLVD. Racetrack

Lansing, me – Mayor of Lansing, Andy Schor and chief of police Robert Backus, held a press conference on Tuesday to update the public about a racing fall that happened during the week.

According to the Lansing police authority, the officials reacted to the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Pierce Road for reports on a crash of five vehicles on Thursday. On arrival, the officials found that there were 13 injured victims between the ages of three and 52.

According to the LPD, witnesses and video material from surrounding companies showed a Chevy Malibu and a Jeep Cherokee, Martin Luther King Bluvd. raced, which led to a crash with several cars.

After further investigations, the officials stated that the driver of Malibu, a 19-year-old man, was expelled from the car and listed together with the 15-year-old man in a critical condition as soon as they were taken to a local hospital.

The 23-year-old male driver of the Cherokee was brought to the hospital with the two passengers in the vehicle after the crash.

During the press conference on Tuesday, Chief Backus said that all victims have been released from the hospital since then, they expect the 15-year-old passenger of the Malibu, who is still listed in critical condition.

No arrests were made at this point, but Chief Backus says that the examination has not yet been completed.
