Madison Beer reveals a trauma behind troubled intimate images

The American singer and songwriter Madison Beer shared shocking details of the trauma, which she had suffered online after her intimate photos.

In a recent interview, the singer revealed that the photos were leaked by her youthful friend, who later apologized to her.

The boy had received the photos from the singer in disappearing Snapchats when she was 15 years old.

The intimate pictures and videos were finally leaked and made their rounds on Twitter and Tumblr.

During a conversation with Cosmo, she revealed that cyberbullying and slut shaming, which followed, let her in a spiral of depression.

“From everything I went through my sudden climb to fame, my private nude photos at the age of 15 was one of the most traumatic,” Madison wrote in her memoirs, half of it, according to an excerpt published by Rolling Stone.

“It still follows me almost a decade later. Every time I think I am fully healed, another side effect holds its ugly head, how to withdraw the layers of an onion, and I notice how much the trauma has entered every aspect of my life.”

When she spoke to Cosmo, she said: “The boy with whom the whole nude situation happened, he stood by me and said: 'I had no idea that I hurt you so much. I'm so sorry.'

Madison Beer expressed empathy with the man who leaked her photos and said: “I don't know what it feels like to be a 14-year-old boy who received photos of a girl. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I don't think he is malicious to show her to his friends. He was a child.”
