In 1990 she became the first judge of the West Chestian County Court and in 1993 she was elected the first district prosecutor of the district. During her tenure, she received recognition for her work on cases of domestic violence and crimes against older people. Pirro ran for the US Senate in 2006 and later for the New York Attorney General and lost against Democrat Andrew Cuomo. Pirro was married to Albert Pirro from 1975 until her divorce in 2013 and has two children. Her daughter Christi Pirro is a lawyer.

Jeanine Ferris Pirro was born on June 2, 1951 in Elmira, New York, the son of the Lebanese-American parents. She completed the Notre Dame High School in three years and acquired a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Buffalo. Then she received her juris Doctor graduation at the Albany Law School in 1975, where she acted as the publisher of the Law Review.
