Traffic on Route 176 was secured in both directions on Thursday afternoon when the crews reacted to a crash in Prairie Grove, officials from the Nunda Rural Fire Protection District said.

Rescue workers were called at 1:35 p.m. to the entrance to the Prairie Isle Golf Course, 2216 Route 176, for an accident with two cars with moderate damage, said the public information officer Alex Vucha.

The adult driver of one of the vehicles was brought to the Northwestern Medicine Mchenry Hospital with minor injuries, and the driver of the second vehicle declined on site, said Vucha.

Firefighters stayed on site until the cars were removed from the street. This caused the bottleneck on the street, said Vucha. Cars may have used half an hour or more to get past the scene, he said.
