Man killed, woman and child injured in Wilmington, Delaware Shooting – NBC10 Philadelphia

A 21-year-old man is dead and a 9-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman are injured after a shootout in Wilmington on Thursday, the police said.

The three -time shootings took place at 6.44 p.m. in the 800 block of the East 22nd Street, the police said, just a few meters from Thomas Edison Junior High School.

The male victim was taken to the hospital in a critical condition before succumbing to his injuries. The woman and the child are in a stable state and expects them to survive according to officials.

People who live in the area say that they are fed up with violence. A man who lives near the shootout agreed to speak to NBC10 without sharing his name or showing his face.

“We have a lot of politicians active, but we don't see it,” said the man. “So we have to see more pressure to pay people to do the job that is obviously not being done.”

The police said it was not clear what led to the shootout and had not announced any arrests or motifs.
