All-star harms ankle against warriors

play

The Star Guard of Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards, left the 2 -56 player in the second quarter after he had gathered and kicked his left ankle after a missed layup.

Edwards packed the ankle on the square. The Timberwolves called timeout, and Edwards limp into the changing room with members of the team's training staff.

Although the team of Edwards listened as questionable to return to the game, he tested the ankle at halftime and was in the line -up to start the third quarter. Shortly before the beginning of the third quarter, the team said that he was available to return.

Edwards had seven points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals and the Timberwolves were 37-19 when he left the game. When he returned for the second half, he ended the game with 20 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals in 34 minutes when the Timberwolves drove to a 117-93 victory.

“Feel great and feel great,” said Edwards after the game when he was asked for his ankle.

Injuries continue to play a role in the playoffs. The Cleveland Cavaliers were without Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and De'andre Hunter in their defeat in game 2 against the Indiana Pacers, and the star of Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry, is at least a week with a left upper limit in class 1.
