Pictures of Microsoft's boring Xbox handheld from Asus are leaked online and offer the first glance at the partner device.

As reported by VideoCardz, the photos were mistakenly leaked by the United States FCC, which accidentally revealed two versions of the ROG Ally 2, including that with Xbox branded device with the code name “Project Kennan”.

One model is white, but the other, Project Kennan, is everything black and has a dedicated Xbox button in the top left of the device.

It is said that Microsoft will officially reveal the Kennan project in the coming months, probably before the end of 2025, which means that we can see an announcement during its annual summer show case in June or July.

Both models offer a large screen, analog sticks, d -pads and x, y, b and a button. In particular, they also have handles that are manufactured according to a controller and offer someone who looks like a chunky handle.

You look very similar to the first ROG Ally Handheld PC, which, to be honest, is quite overwhelming. When I only concentrated on the Xbox version, I expected a lot more in the design department in addition to a barely visible brand button. Nothing screams “Xbox Gaming Handheld”.

Project Keenan was leaked in March and was reported as a partner device with an Xbox branding, green highlights and an Xbox Guide button. The latest pictures seem to confirm these newly decayed images, but they are clearly in progress, so that the design will hopefully be updated before its publication.

It also seems that this new partner device is not the Xbox handheld. In November 2024, Spencer confirmed that the company is working on Handheld prototypes and said that he asked his team to check the current market to develop his vision of a handheld based on what it learns.
