Marana father because of a hot car death of the daughter allowed Hawaii trip

Tucson, ariz. (13 news) – The father, who was charged in a hot car last summer, was allowed to go on a Hawaiian vacation.

Christopher Scholtes will face the first degree for murder and child abuse.

There was no answer in Christopher Scholtes Haus in Marana on Thursday, and those who were near him said said that a nanny observed the dogs that could be heard on the inside after he had requested an application for travel last month, which partially stated:

“The accused, Christopher Scholtes, hereby asks the lawyer to travel to Maui, Hawaii from May 1, 2025 to May 9, 2025. Defendant (this is Scholtes). His wife and two daughters will travel to a family vacation in Hawaii …”

Scholtes is charged with the first degree murder and child abuse because of the death of his two -year -old daughter in a hot car last July. Acura's MDX had an automatic attitude that he had admitted, while video and documents pointed out that he played video games for up to three hours in his house.

Since then he was seen twice in court and his appearance from his search photo to glasses and short hair in August to no glasses, longer and darker hair at the end of March when he rejected a plea for a second degree.

As for the Maui trip, a judge later decided in the last month: among other things:

“The requested trip is approved.

The accused contacted pre -judicial services after leaving the state of Arizona, continues with pre -judicial services outside the state of Arizona and turns to the pre -judicial services after his return. “

And:

“The accused still has no unattended contact with children.”

Defender Louis Fidel, who is not connected to this case, said that judges can take into account guidelines like this before they submit applications together with the behavior of the accused up to this point and his risk for others.

And he is innocent until he has proven to be guilty.

However, the law firm of the Pima district contested the request and replied:

“The public recording would show that the defendant and his lawyer requested that the court be permitted to travel outside the state. Our prosecutors rejected it strictly. The court granted permission to obtain our objection.”

Scholtes rejected a chance in a 10- to 25-year prison sentence when he rejected a second degree murder to pursue a possible life sentence in October.
