Family wants justice after the father of 3 shots in Pompano Beach – NBC 6 Südflorida

A family in South Florida wants justice after a 25-year-old father was shot in Pompano Beach last week.

Family members said Jacarey Love was funny and liked to make you laugh, but he was also a father of family who loved his nieces and nephews and his three children.

“He just loved being with his children, loved being with children,” said Chilee Cotton. “He just illuminated a room when he came in.”

Detective said that someone shot love in a quarter of Pompano Beach last Thursday. Paramedics took the 25-year-old to the hospital, but he died.

The investigators said that a second man had also been treated in a hospital because the shootout was not considered life -threatening to an injury.

The family of love is destroyed.

“Magdwühen, heartbreaking, it's difficult for us,” said Cotton. “You never think you will get this call, and if you do it, it's just like the end of your world.”

Love was the youngest of four children and the only boy. Cotton is the oldest. She said that she was recently spoken to her brother that day.

“I told him to come to my house and pick up a post that he had received, and I didn't think that this would be my last time to speak to him,” said Cotton. “We just hate that this has happened. It is terrible to see that gun power is always part of this community, and we only hope that no other family has to go through it.”

Cotton doesn't know why someone took her brother's life.

“I think it's just wrong, the wrong time,” said Cotton.

The family of love wants to answer and they want justice.

“I just hope that the police can give us answers and that we can go forward as a family,” said Cotton. It won't bring him back, but it will help us to sleep better at night. “
