Case for man who was charged in 2016 in the Omaha Street Racing Racing Crash, in which Sarah Wurzel was killed, went to the district court

On February 27, 2025, the Honduran national police announced on social media that Mejia had been captured in Honduras. Shortly afterwards, the authorities put him back to the United States.

He was on the run for almost nine years.

Senator Joni Ernst (R-IOWA) led to the fact that Mejia was able to connect and flee from the USA to create “Sarah's law”, which were named after Root and obliged illegal immigrants, the violent crimes against Americans were arrested regardless of the status of the deposit.
