Man who is charged with a beaten couple, killed in the New Year's accident

The driver behind the steering wheel of a pick -up, who killed and killed a couple from Grove City in the early morning hours of the New Year's day, was charged by a Grand jury of Franklin County on Thursday.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. on New Year's Day at the intersection of Alkire and Norton Roads near Bolton Field.

The couple Keith Klatt, 56, and his wife Joellen, 53, were involved in a traffic accident and their car was deactivated in the middle of the intersection. The clates were out of their car when the pickup hit their car hard enough to trigger the airbags in the pick-up and push the car out of the intersection. The clates were hit and killed.

Court files show that Joseph Moore from Galloway was charged on Thursday by a large jury due to two heavy murder of vehicles, two cases of serious attacks and two charges for the operation of a vehicle under influence.

A court date was not immediately listed in the court file.

According to the couple's obituary, Keith Klatt was in the insurance business and Joellen, who went from Joey, worked at Chase Bank. They left two adult sons behind and expected a grandchild.
