The art exhibition in Fredericksburg emphasizes the recovery of mental health

Rappahannock Area Community Services Board will present his exhibition “Art of Recovery” from May 2 to 31 in the Central Rappahannock regional library in Fredericksburg. The exhibition shows works of art that were created by people living with mental illnesses and coincides with the national month of mental health. An opening reception will take place on May 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Fredericksburg, Virginia – A picture may be worth more than a thousand words, but pictures of the recovery of mental illnesses exceed every lexicon. The Rappahannock Area Community Services Board is proud to announce its upcoming exhibition. Art of recoveryA convincing shop window created by talented artists who live with mental illnesses.

The exhibition will take place from May 2 to 31 in the Central Rappahannock Regional Library in the Caroline Street 1201 in Fredericksburg.

“The art of recovery aims to challenge the stigma, promote understanding and celebrate the unique perspectives and contributions of these artists,” said Anna Loftis, coordinator of the Kenmore Club, Racsb's Day Program for adults with serious and ongoing mental illnesses. “This exhibition offers artists an invaluable platform to share their voices and talents with our community and offer a strong memory of resilience and creative spirit.”

This diverse collection of masterpieces will examine a wide range of topics and reflect the personal trips and creativity of the artists.

The opening reception will take place on May 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the exhibition space. The reception is free of charge and accessible to the public and offers easy refreshments and the opportunity to buy art.

The exhibition coincides with the national month of mental health and will be issued by May 31. Racsb believes in the power of art to connect, heal and inspire. This exhibition is part of its ongoing commitment to reduce stigmatization, promotion of consciousness for mental health and the tender of hope in the community.
