Marana Hot Car Death: Dad accused can go on Hawaiian vacation, says Court

A father from the south of Arizona, who is charged with his young daughter's hot car death, has been given permission to go on vacation to Hawaii before his legal proceedings.

Christopher Scholtes is charged with the first degree murder and child abuse. The prosecutor says that 37-year-old Christopher Scholtes had his daughter sleeping in her car seat after he returned to his Marana House last year near Camino de Oeste and Cortaro Farms Road.

Scholtes informed the police that he had the car run with the air conditioning and distracted them when playing video games. Scholte's wife later came home and found her daughter unconscious. The girl later died in the hospital.
