Seven in violent Maryland “Bank Jugging” crickriminal spree charged

(WBFF) – Seven people were charged with a comprehensive series of violent robberies all over Maryland, said Attorney General Anthony Brown on Friday.

Officials say that the indictment in a criminal gang, attempted murder, armed carjacking, the armed robbery, assault and the numbers for firearms include.

The crimes that were allegedly exceeded from August 2023 to July 2024 occurred in several counties, including Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Howard, Charles and Montgomery.

The victims were mainly attacked after banking facilities such as the Navy Federal Credit Union, the Bank of America, Capitol One and Wells Fargo were visited.

The investigators claim that the defendants had two separate but similarly operated criminal organizations that used a tactic called “Bankwrotelung” – suspects would allegedly identify a victim who left a bank, approaching the victim, attacking a firearm on the victim or otherwise attacking them and announce a robbery.

It is believed that the groups are responsible for a total of 34 armed robberies and tried robberies and steal a total of more than $ 155,000.
