Rollover kills 1 in San Juan County in a second fatal crash there in 1 day

Salt Lake City – One person is dead after a rollover crash in San Juan County on Thursday. It was the second fatal accident in the county that day.

The Saniff office of San Juan County said on Facebook that the crash on County Road 313 near the Mine of the Lisbon Valley took place around 3:05 p.m.

“An EMT from the mine was the first on site and carried out life -saving measures, but this person also died on site from their injuries,” said the Sheriff's office.

The victim's identity had not been published.

The sheriff's office reminded people to be careful through San Juan County because the warmer weather brings more people to the area. It doesn't mean not drinking and driving, wearing seat belts and following speed limits.

“Most accidents we are responding to and serious injuries could be avoided if people follow these three simple rules, ”said the Sheriff's office.
