Desantis signed death command for the man who was kidnapped in 1994, murder, murder

Tallahasee-Gouvenur Ron Desantis signed a death sentence for Anthony Wainwright on Friday, who was condemned in 1994 for a woman from a parking lot of the Winn-Dixie supermarket in Lake City and had raped and murdered in rural Hamilton County.

Wainwright, who had escaped from a prison from North Carolina before he killed 23-year-old Carmen Gayheart, is to be killed in the Florida State Prison on June 10th.

A order of conviction by Circuit Richter E. Vernon Douglas from 1995 described the murder as “extremely evil, evil, evil and hideous, since the victim was kidnapped by this case with a gun handled while she put food in her vehicle when she was on the way to pick up her two small children in a day care center.”

It was said that Gayheart had “been made to think about her fate” for more than an hour when she was driven where she was driven in the back of the head with a rifle of 22 caliber.

Wainwright and a co -accused, Richard Hamilton, were arrested the next day after a shootout with the police in Mississippi. This was the result of a document that was submitted last year by the Florida Attorney General in an unsuccessful appeal procedure by Wainwright at the US Court of Justice.

The 54 -year -old Wainwright is said to be the sixth inmate in Florida. Four men were executed, and Glen Rogers are expected to be killed on Thursday in the murder of a woman in a Tampa Motel area in 1995. The arrest warrant in Wainwright came one day after the Supreme Court of Florida rejected a appeal by Rogers.

Wainwright's appeal was not unsuccessful, but Florida's Supreme Court on Friday gave a schedule for a last attempt by his lawyers to save him before executing.

The document submitted last year before the public prosecutor's office said that Wainwright and Hamilton had fled a prison in Newport, North Carolina, stole a Cadillac and brake a house where they took two rifles.

After driving to Florida, they decided to steal another car on April 27, 1994 because the Cadillac overheated according to the court document. They drove to the Winn-Dixie car park in Lake City and saw Gayheart invaded a Ford Bronco.

Hamilton forced her to bronco with a gun held up and drove away, with Wainwright in the Cadillac. Then they let off the Cadillac and drove north on the Interstate 75 before moving to a forest area, where Gayheart was raped and killed, the document says.
