Lincoln You get two decades for the distribution of fentanyl, which leads to death

Lincoln, along with Klkn) – A Lincoln man was convicted on Friday for the sale of fentanyl, which caused a fatal overdose.

The 32-year-old Michael Smith received 20 years in the federal prison with a 5-year term of the supervised release for a number of fentanyl distributions, which led to death.

In August 2023, Smith sold 17 fentanyl pills to Aidan Glenn, and Glenn sold these pills to Chase Hartung, according to the US prosecutor.

After Hartung had received the pills, the authorities stated that they would give five of them to another person.

This man took at least one of the pills, which led to his overdose and his death.

The victim's telephone records show that Hartung was his only source of fentanyl pills according to the US public prosecutor.

By talking to hardening and a review of his phone, the law enforcement authorities learned that he and the victim occasionally pooled money to buy pills from Glenn and Wren Chamberlain.

The law enforcement said that Hartung helped them to arrange a stitch operation.

Glenn said to Hartung that he would meet Smith to get more pills.

The investigators then arrested Glenn, Chamberlain and Smith in this place.

During the recorded prison calls, Glenn admitted to having sold the pills that led to the victim's death.

Glenn was sentenced to 20 years in prison in January, while Chamberlain was sentenced to more than four years in prison in December.

Hartung is currently discontinued on May 21 for a trial.
