Eric Adams to meet Trump in Washington about NYC's priorities

Mayor Eric Adams from New York City met with President Trump in Washington on Friday when documents were published in connection with his abandoned federal corruption.

The mayor's office said that Mr. Adams was planning to “discuss priorities in New York”, including infrastructure projects. After the meeting, the mayor said that he had raised a wind farm project off the coast of Long Island that the city could have benefited, but was canceled by the Trump administration last month.

The President offered another attitude: “I think he was honestly coming in to thank me,” said Mr. Trump without working out.

When asked what they were discussing, Mr. Trump said: “Almost nothing.”

Mr. Adams seems to have reason for gratitude after the Trump administration has passed his criminal proceedings. Public prosecutors published material on Friday in connection with the case, including search order and affidavit, which describes some of the evidence in the case. The judge, who headed the mayor's case, ordered that the documents should be published in response to an application to the New York Times after dismissal of the indictment.

Although the material runs almost 2,000 pages, a first review showed that the FBI and the public prosecutor had examined whether Mr. Adam's witness had committed, even though they had not charged him with this crime. In a statement, a lawyer of Mr. Adams, Alex Spiro said that the case “should never be brought first and now is over”.

Mr. Trump had previously said that he knew nothing about Mr. Adam's case and was not involved.

The material helps to explain the indictment against Mr. Adams, which a federal judge, Dale E. Ho, rejected last month after an application from high -ranking officials from the Ministry of Justice, who said that the mayor's collaboration hindered the mayor with the president's immigration agenda.
