Beckley man sentenced to almost 8 years of prison for federal drug crime

Beckley, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man was convicted of seven years and 11 months in prison on Friday to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine -containing mixture and substance, said the US Ministry of Justice.

According to court documents and explanations that were made in court, Devin Cresce, 28, from Beckley, West Virginia, sold 53 grams of methamphetamine to an informant in an exchange for 500 US dollars in Mount Hope, which he admitted.

He also admitted to having sold about 142 grams of methamphetamine and an estimated 24 gram fentanyl for $ 1,800 in July and August 2023.

Each distribution occurred at Cresce's house and included the same informant.

On August 10, 2023, the officials carried out a search command in the house and confiscated about 94.5 grams of fentanyl and 63 grams of methamphetamine.

Court documents said that Cresce was planning to distribute the substances in and around the southern district of West Virginia.

Cresce's criminal history includes earlier convictions, including possessions with the intention of distributing a controlled substance and embezzlement.
