Mann on scooter dies of injuries to the crash of Long Beach – Press Telegram

A man died of injuries when he was hit by a car while driving with an electric scooter in Long Beach.

The man died on Saturday, May 3, in a hospital and the Long Beach police were notified on Wednesday after a press release from the Long Beach Police Department.

The crash occurred on April 29 at 9:40 a.m. in the 6500 block of the Atlantic Avenue, the police said.

The investigation showed that a Honda Accord from 2019 from a 19-year-old residents of Long Beach did not stop for a red light towards the north towards Artesia Boulevard. The car collided with the man with the scooter in a marked zebra crossing, the police said.

The Long Beach man on the scooter was taken to a hospital in a critical condition and died five days later. His name was not published publicly.

The Accord driver stayed at the scene and worked with the examination, the police said.

Speed ​​could have been a factor for the collision, the police said.

It was unclear whether the driver was expected to arrest and/or be charged with crime.
