Trump fires Biden names, including Doug Emhoff, from the Holocaust Museum

The Trump government has started to relieve at least some of the former President Joseph R. Biden Jr. to the board, which monitors the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, including Douglas Emhoff, the husband of the former Vice President Kamala Harris, and other senior bids.

“Today I was informed about my removal of the Holocaust Dedent Council of the United States,” said Emhoff in a statement on Tuesday. “Holocaust – memory and education should never be politicized. It is dangerous to transform one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge problem – and the memory of six million Jews who are murdered by Nazis has been murdered that this museum was founded.”

Mr. Emhoff is Jewish and pronounced critic of the increase in anti -Semitism. His appointment to the Council was announced in January; The president's appointments are usually five years of office.

The other dismissed civil servants include Ron Klain, the first chief of staff of Mr. Biden; Tom Perez, the former Minister of Labor and Senior Advisor from Mr. Biden; Susan Rice, the national security advisor of the former President Barack Obama and Mr. Bidens Supreme Domestics Advisor, who headed an important national strategic effort to counteract anti -Semitism. And Anthony Bernal, a senior consultant by Jill Biden, the former first lady.

Mr. Biden has agreed many appointments over the years, and it was not immediately clear how many others had been released.

“In the name of President Donald J. Trump, I write to tell you that your position as a member of the US Holocaust Memorial Council will be immediately ended,” wrote Mary Spirls, who works in the President's Office of the White House, on Tuesday morning in an e -mail to civil servants. “Thanks for your service.”

The note took place less than a week after compliance with the Holocaust -and at a complicated time for many American Jews, some of whom fear that President Trump will adapt real fears about anti -Semitism for his political purposes.

“This is a sad day because our mission in the council has always been impartial,” said Perez in a short call.

Representatives of Mr. Trump did not immediately respond to inquiries about comments on the dismissals. A spokesman for the museum had no comment.
