The 12-year-old boy who was killed in shooting on the Compton playground

A 12-year-old boy was killed on a shooting playground in Compton on Friday afternoon.

According to the Sheriff Department of the Los Angeles County, the authorities were sent to the 2100 block of the Oris Street near Fig/Oleander Park in Fig Street and the Oleander Street at 4 p.m.

Firefighters with the fire brigades of Downey and Compton say that the boy was brought to Harbor-Ucla Medical Center in a critical condition.

At some point he was declared dead after the arrival. The authorities have not identified the victim.

No information on a suspect or motive was made available to the shootout.

The authorities have not announced any arrests.

The entire park was surrounded by crime band when the investigators asked the scene. It is unclear when the area is opened again.

The residents who lived near the playground say that the boy often saw there when he lived nearby. They say he is a student at Davis Middle School.

They also said that they heard of 15 shots that fled from the area in front of a dark red Chevrolet Camaro or Dodge Charger.
