  • The mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, has appointed an incumbent director of the new Ministry of Architecture, Urban Planning and Land Relations of the City Council of Odesa, which is also the main architect of the city. The department is temporarily headed by Nadiya Novikova, which was transferred by the mayor in March from the position of the director of the Ministry of Land Resources in order to direct the Ministry of Architecture and Urban Planning.
  • On May 5, Hennadiy Trukhanov signed a decree that appointed the director of the department for mobilization training, military registration and defense of the city council of Odesa. In fact, the mayor Andriy Gerasymenko handed over to this position, which had headed the Odesa city council's mobilization and defense work before the department was founded.
  • On May 8, it became known that an extraordinary meeting of the city council of Odesa would take place on May 13. Several questions are taken into account by the MPs.   • After the end of the war law, water tariffs in Odesa are to be increased from the currently 35 Hryvnia to 55 Hryvnia's 44 Kopecks per cubic meter.
  • The current tariff of 35 Hryvnias was determined before the outbreak of the full war outbreak and no longer corresponds to the actual costs of the company for water supply and waste water.

Italy will give 63 million euros for three large-scale projects for the Odesa region

  • On May 7, it was announced that Italy would finance three large-scale projects in the Odesa region with a total of more than 63 million euros.
  • The first agreement provides for a grant of € 27.5 million for the restoration of Odesa architectural monuments. The funds are used to restore the Odea Philharmonic (the former new exchange building), the Potocki Palace, the Abaza Palace (where the museum of western and eastern art is currently located) and to restore the literary museum.
  • The second loan agreement provides for the assignment of EUR 30 million on favorable conditions: 20 years, of which the first 10 periods of grace are without repayment of 0% per year. The money is used to build a new building of the regional children's hospital in Odesa.
  • The third project is to improve irrigation systems in the region, which is of crucial importance in connection with climate change and drought as well as for the country's nutritional certainty. It is planned to attract 6.1 million EUR in scholarships for the reconstruction of irrigation systems in the Odesa region.
