The NCAA Women's Rules Committee proposes Coach's challenge to initiate the video review too variety of games

Indianapolis-DAS NCAA committee for women basketball rules for women has suggested that a trainer challenge a video check of the calls outside the undergravations and three other types of games.

The committee met in Indianapolis this week and voted to recommend the change for the 2025-26 season.

Suggestions must be approved by the NCAA supervisory board of the rules of the game, which is fulfilled on June 10th.

As part of the proposal, pieces that could be questioned at any time during the game include outside the undergravations, backcourt violations, regardless of whether a change in the team ownership occurred before the decision of a foul, in which free throws would be involved and whether a foul was assessed to the right player.

Officials could not initiate any reviews of these calls, with the exception of whether a foul was assessed to the right player.

The teams would not have to have a time crossing to present a video review challenge in the NCAA women's basketball competition. However, a failed challenge would lead to an administrative technical foul for an excessive break.

“The committee dealt with the game pace and the number of reviews that took place at the end of games,” said Nicki Collen, chairman of the rules committee and trainer in Baylor. “This was also an experimental rule in this year's Wbit. By removing the option for reviewing violations outside of the undergravations and enabling the coaches to challenge the call, remove the river at the end of the games, while they still enable the possibility to get the right.”

Among other things, the committee also proposed and presented the shooting clock to 20 seconds when the offensive after a dead ball was given the ball on its forecourt. Elimination of the rule in which jerseys must be installed; A technical team that uses excessive time overruns or plays with six players when the ball becomes live. And the cancellation of the player and the head coach for a game when the player started in a game that the player should have missed due to a suspension.
