The family speaks after the driver was arrested for Dui crash, where motorcyclists were killed – NBC 6 Südflorida

Almost six months after a fatal crash, in which a father, son, a brother, a friend and a professional motorcyclist was killed, the police arrested the person who was supposedly at the wheel.

The 37 -year -old Daniel Edward Morales of Plantation was arrested on Wednesday, including Dui -Totschlag, Vehicle Murder, Dui, which causes property damage, and ruthless driving.

The charges came from November 16, 2024, in which Chyler William Weatherford, a racing driver who took part in Motoamerica and other racing organizations.

Leanne O'Donnell, mother of Chyler Weatherford, speaks in Broward Bond during the appearance of Daniel Morales.

According to an affidavit, Morales drove an Audi R8 north on the I-75 in the Sheridan Street in Pembroke Pines at 1 a.m. when he lost control of the car and fell against a guardrail. Weatherford was declared dead at the crime scene, and Morales was injured and hospitalized.

Family members said NBC6 said that Weatherford was always there for people. As the youngest of five children, he loved his family and took care of his disabled father, who was disabled.

“He was a great son, I couldn't have acted better,” said mother Leaann O'Donnell. “I loved him very much.”

Weatherford was also a father. His son is ready to complete the high school.

“Kyle was our baby and that's why he was a very hard loss,” said Weatherford's sister Helen Carbajal.

Weatherford had a passion for the race. At the age of 15 he started racing by bike with the dirt bike, took part in many racing organizations and won prizes.

“I saw him walking around the corner and touching the ground, and I fell almost passed out because I was so afraid that something would happen to him,” said O'Donnell. “He was one of the best racing drivers.”

O'Donnell appeared during the hearing of Morales' Bond Court in Zoom and was suffocated when she described the pain of his loss.

“I would like to let her know that because of the bad judgment, his actions and his negligence, he has taken away a father who will no longer complete his son from the high school or celebrate holidays with his family,” said O'Donnell. “He destroyed our family. He was, Kyle was the caregiver of his disabled father. Now Mr. Morales was able to celebrate his birthday with his family, but Kyle had only a celebration of life on his birthday without him, our life has changed forever.”

Weatherford's family said that the last few months were difficult.

“I want him to go to prison (moral), I want justice,” said Carbajal. “I want him to know what he did was wrong.”

They said they still had a hard fight for climbing before getting justice.

“We are very strong that he understands the consequences of the poor judgment he made with my son,” said O'Donnell. “Before you stand behind this wheel, think about it. Think of the people who will drive with you. The need for speed shouldn't be.”

The judge set the bond from Morales to $ 160,000 and ordered him not to drive, have drugs or alcohol, and told him that he could not leave the Tri County area and had to hand in his passport. He posted Bond.
