“I killed my father, I arrested”: Young woman calls 999

A young woman in Savar yesterday called the National Emergency Service 999 and admitted to kill her father because he had sexually abused her in the past four years.

The caller identified as an 23-year-old Jannatul Jahan Shifa told the police that she wanted to hand over and asked her to arrest her immediately.

In this regard, the national emergency services were also given a press release.

During the call, which came from the Majidpur Kat then in the Savar community, the police said that her father Abdus Sattar, 55, had raped her over the past four years. In 2022, she submitted a rape procedure against him at the Singra Police Station in Nacore.

After he had spent a long time in prison, he was released against the deposit, but his behavior towards her did not change, she said when she asked about the reason for killing.

After her explanation to the police, he tried to rape her again on Wednesday evening, which caused her to commit the murder.

After the 999 call, a team from the Savar Model Police Station hurried to the scene, arrested them, recovered the body and sent them to Shahed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

After Shifa's arrest during the primary survey, she told the police that her father used to abuse her against her will.

Shifa told the police that she mixed 20 sleeping pills to her father's dinner on Wednesday evening. When he was passed out, she repeatedly stabbed a sharp weapon yesterday around 4 a.m.

The sub -inspector of the Savar Model Police Station Imran, who visited the scene, confirmed the incident to the National Emergency Service 999.

Abdus Sattar, originally from the village of Bhaga in Natores Singra Upraazila, had lived in a rented apartment on the fifth floor after the death of his wife.

According to media reports, Sattar started living with his daughter again after he got deposit. The father and daughter moved into the apartment about five months ago.

However, the tensions existed due to the earlier case between them, and Sattar had put his daughter under different ways to withdraw the case, according to the reports, under cited police.
