The Seattle Mariners GM offers details on the violation of the important aid

Seattle-Einer of the most frequently used helpers in the Seattle Mariners Bullpen was brought to the shelf with a surprising injury before the game on Friday against Toronto Blue Jay.

The Mariners put right-handed Trent Thornton on the 15-day injured list of appendicitis and reminded Troy Taylor from the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers in a corresponding step. Thornton's IL parade was withdrawn to May 6th.

Thornton's last excursion was against athletics against athletics on May 5th. He threw an inn out, went one and allowed two goals.

Seattle General Manager, Justin Hollander, spoke to the media on Friday before the game against Toronto and presented an injury update about several players, including Thornton.

Thornton felt uncomfortable for several days and the team sent him to a doctor to check. Then the appendicitis was discovered and Thornton was operated on immediately after the disease was diagnosed. According to Hollander, Thornton will leave for several weeks.

“I got a text (Thursday) tomorrow that you would make an appointment for him,” said Hollander. Fortunately, they did it because they caught it in time when they could carry out an operation before the appendicitis became something worse. “

The Mariners have no precise time frame for Thornton's return, but Hollander said he would be closer for three weeks than the 15-day IL window.

“After what I understand, he is already itching (again on throwing),” said Hollander. “He feels much better after the operation last night. He is a super competitive guy, wants to be out there. However, it will take a few weeks. At least fifteen days are probably too early to think about it.”

This season Thornton has an ERA of 5.86 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 15.1 Innings to 16 appearances. Its number of excursions was for the third most common team that occurred on Saturday. He led Seattle on excursions in 2024 (71). He had a 3.61 ERA with 77 strikes in 72.1 Innerings.

The Mariners are now 22-15 after a hard 6: 3 defeat on Friday evening. You will play the Blue Jays on Saturday at 6.40 p.m. PT.
