Seminole County Porderler Wall Notes Mothers Health, Wellness before Mother's Day

Longwood, Fla. – The owner of an Altamonte Spring birth center organized a stroller walk in the Reiter Park on Saturday, the day before Mother's Day, to emphasize the importance of health and well -being of mothers.

“We have women – mothers with strollers – who walk around to attract attention, and then we distributed brochures that talk about mental health, wellness maternal side, and the fact that a third women suffer not only after pregnancy but during pregnancy,” said Dr. Kaleen Richards with the tree of birth and gynecology.

According to Richards, women have an enormous influx of hormones that could worsen their mental health up to a year after the child was born.

“In the first year after birth, the cause of death for women in women is suicide,” she said. “We try to raise awareness so that we exist that there is no stigmatization and shame about perinatal mood disorders, and to let women know that there is help.”

Richards' birth center offers postpartum visits and supports croupes to help these new mothers survive the difficult times.

“It is not like this:” Here is a pill and be better “, is it?

Neriyah Israel, who went with the group on Saturday, said she had problems after the birth of her fourth child.

“I actually developed postpartum depression after my fourth child, and it was so bad that I had to be included in a mental facility for six days,” she said. “Usually after the baby it is like 'let's look for the baby' and then 'Mom, you are okay', but it's a lot of spiritual fear you are going through.

Because of what she went through, Israel said, it meant the world to raise awareness before Mother's Day.
