Ma trainer, who killed the cyclist killed by a garbage car, confirms the police, confirmed

With the kind permission of Atherton Police Department

Steven McCulley, chief of police, confirmed and killed when he ran and killed a sports trainer of the Menlo Atheron High School when he ran by bike in Atherton on Friday.

The deadly collision occurred at the intersection of the Middlefield Road and the Prior Lane when the truck Bog bog and coach Dylan Taylor, who drove in the designated bicycle track, said McCulley in his explanation.

“On behalf of the entire police department team and the city of Atherton, I expand the family, friends and members of the victim our warm condolences,” said McCulley, adding that the department “actively examines the circumstances of the collision”.

The Atherton Police Department works with the regional Dural accident investigation team (MAIT) and the traffic safety experts to thoroughly review the incident.

Taylor, trainer and paraeducator, who worked with students on the Menlo-Aterton High School, the La Entrada Elementary and Hillview Middle Schools, suffered life-threatening injuries and died shortly after transport to the hospital, the authorities said.

The police said the driver of the garbage trolley stayed at the crime scene and worked with investigators.

“At this point there is no indication that alcohol or drug factors contributed to the collision,” said officials.

“We have to work together – city departments, private partners and residents – to ensure that such an avoidable loss does not take place again,” said McCulley.

The police will increase the enforcement of the Middlefield Road Corridor and expand the efforts to form the community to promote bicycle, pedestrian and driver safety, said McCulley.

Taylor's death marks Atherton's first fatal traffic collision of the year.
