Mother of the 16-year-old killed in the Apple Valley Crash starts Gofundme to cover the funeral costs

Apple Valley, California (vvng.com) -The mother of a 16-year-old boy who was killed in an accident at the beginning of this month asks for the help of the public when she prepares to relax her son.

Marcos Lopez, a student based in Victorville, was one of two people who were killed in an accident on April 9, 2025 in an accident with an individual vehicle in the Apple Valley. In the days since the devastating loss, his mother Jessica Olmeda created a gofundme donation campaign entitled “Support Marcos Lopez 'Funal Cost”.

“On April 9, 2025, my son Marcos Lopez was abruptly taken away from a car accident. He was only 16 years old. My family and I were destroyed by it,” wrote Olmeda on the donation side.

According to the Sheriff department of the San Bernardino County, the crash occurred shortly after midnight when the deputies tried to find a ruthless driver on the Central Road south of the Walpi Road. The vehicle, a black dodge charger, was later summarized in an Edison Pole.

Marcos, a passenger, and the driver, 32-year-old Jimmy Terriquez from Victorville, both died at the scene.

While the investigators continue to check the circumstances of the crash, Jessica focuses on honoring her son's life and asking the community for help to give him a worthy farewell.

“I contact my family and community for help in covering the costs for Marcos' funeral,” she said. “The financial burden of these agreements is difficult, and we ask for donations to help us honor Marcos with a suitable memorial. No amount, no matter how small, is very valued and helps to reduce the stress in this difficult time.”

“If dear Marcos could have kept here, he would have lived forever,” she wrote.
