Audi remembers after 2,539 oil blast guarantees in the areas of Q5 -SUVs

Audi is reminiscent of almost 90,000 Q5 Quattro and Q5 Sportback Quattro SUVs.

-Audi called back about 90,000 of the 2022-2024 Q5 Quattro and 2022-2024 Q5 Sportback Quattro SUVs, since the cylinder head cover screws may not be tight enough.

This enables motor oil to violate and increase the risk of a fire.

According to Audi:

“Due to the varying attraction during the screw process of the cylinder head coverage, a permanently safe screw connection and thus the sealing of the cylinder head coverage cannot be guaranteed in all cases.”

In May 2023, Audi learned of complaints about Audi Q5 vehicles that escaped oil from the cylinder head covers and prompted the engineers to open an examination.

Audi found screws with Burrs, a problem that occurred during production. The Burrs are sufficient to cause damage to the surface of the cylinder head covering of the screw seat area. And it is sufficient for the screws to lose torque and oil.

In January 2024, Audi spent a bulletin for technical service to the dealers to tell the dealers that they inspected the cylinder head cover screws and were loose. However, the car manufacturer continues to monitor the vehicles on oil leaks.

In May 2024, Audi received complaints about thermal events from oil leaks engines, which led to engineers collecting the subject engines. The note indicates problems with the torque of the cylinder head cover screws.

According to Audi, it received 2,539 warranty claims on oil leaks and 11 “heating events” reports. However, the car manufacturer estimates that only 5% of the vehicles have loose screws.

Audi dealers inspect and replace the screws if necessary as soon as the return letter is sent on July 8, 2025. Audi Q5 owners can contact Audi with 800-253-2834.

The roll number of the cylinder disc of the Audi cylinder disc is 15ZK.
