Second arrest in connection with death on MSC Virtuosa Cruise Ship

A second person was arrested in connection with the death of a 60-year-old man on board a cruise ship.

James Messham from Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, died last Saturday at 8:30 p.m. after a “argument” on the MSC Virtuosa.

A 57-year-old man from Exeter, Devon, was arrested on suspicion of the murder by Hampshire Constabulary and released until further inquiries.

The troop has now confirmed that a second man was arrested.

A spokesman said: “A 56-year-old man from Richmond, London, was arrested for suspected manslaughter and remains custody at that time.

“We are still interested in hearing from everyone who was on board the ship that had left at around 6 p.m. on Saturday and was still in British waters at that time.”

Hampshire had left the cruise ship for a two -day trip to Bruges, Belgium.

Mr. Messham, who operated the Messhams Wall of Death travel show, was described by friends as a “big showman” that tribute released on Facebook.
