EDGWAUTER shooting: Derrell Givens is 1 of 2 in Chicagoer shooting in 6,300 block of the North Broadway, say officials, say officials, say officials

Chicago (WLS) – One of two men who were killed on a north side early Saturday morning was identified, the officials said on Sunday.

According to the Chicago police, the officials reacted to a call about a shootout in the 6300 block of the Edwater district of North Broadway around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday.

The responding officers found three men who had been shot.

A 28-year-old man who suffered several gunshot wounds was brought to the St. Francis Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner office later identified him as Derrell A. Givens.

A 31-year-old man who suffered a firing wound on his chest was taken to the Weiss Memorial Hospital, where he was also declared dead. His identity has not yet been published.

Another man, 36, was shot in the back and brought to the Evanston Hospital, where he is listed in fair condition.

The police did not immediately provide further information about the shootout.
