Trump is supposed to accept a luxury 747 from Qatar for use as Air Force One

The Trump administration plans to accept a luxurious aircraft 747-800 as a donation from the Qatar Royal Family, which as Air Force One in the possibly largest foreign gift that is ever received by the US government, a high-ranking civil servant with direct knowledge of the matter.

The plane is then donated to President Trump's presidential library when he leaves his office, the official said, so that he continues to use it as a private individual.

The plan accuses considerable ethical problems, given the immense value of the wasteful aircraft and the fact that Mr. Trump wants to use it from office after leaving. Sold New, a commercial Boeing 747-800 costs in the range of $ 400 million.

Mr. Trump's own private aircraft, known as “Trump Force One”, is an older 757 jet who flew first in the early 1990s and was then used by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Mr. Trump bought it in 2011. The Qatarian jet would give him a much newer plane for his own use if Mr. Trump continues to fly.

The plan previously registered by ABC News is expected to be announced in the coming days, since Mr. Trump will assume the first extended foreign journey of his presidency at three nations in the Middle East, including Qatar. The president's request will meet a new Air Force One after repeatedly delays at Boeing a government contract for two new jets to meet this purpose.

Mr. Trump visited the Qatarian 747, which is a little more than a decade old, while it was parked at Palm Beach International Airport in February. The New York Times then reported that the jet was considered a possible new air force one.
