Harmony, NC (WBTV) – A man from Statesville was killed in an accident early Sunday morning in Iredell County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Soldiers said that the crash was taking place around 1:30 a.m. in the SAW Mills Road near the Union Grove Road.

A Polaris RZR from 2019 drove to the northwest in the SAW Mills Road when the driver lost control, crossed the center line, drove the left road and overturned.

The driver, Seth Allen Paynter, 25, from Statesville, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, soldiers said.

The Highway Patrol said that its first examination indicates that alcohol was causing a factor for the crash.

During the examination before the scene, Troopers said that the SAW Mills Road was closed for about two hours in the area.
