Zelensky offers to meet Putin after Trump has asked Ukraine to have direct talks with Russia

According to Zelensky, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, he is ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin “personally” in Istanbul on Thursday for discussions about the end of the war.

His post came shortly after Donald Trump asked that Ukraine had Putin's offer about direct discussions between the two countries in Turkey.

“It makes no sense to extend the murders. And I will wait for Putin in Türkiye on Thursday.” Personally, “wrote Zelensky.

He had previously said that his country was open to discussions with Russia, but only after a ceasefire.

Western powers have demanded a 30-day break in the fights to start on Monday after the European leaders led the so-called “coalition of the willing” in Kyiv on Saturday.

Putin's range of direct conversations followed this intervention.

On Sunday, Trump then posted on social media that Ukraine should “immediately” agree with it, and there would be clarity whether there was a way to end the war.

“At least you can determine whether a deal is possible or not, and if this is not the case, European leaders and the USA will know where everything is standing and can continue accordingly,” he said and added: “Have the meeting now!”
