Hellebuyck Had His Fourth Career Playoff Shutout to Help the Regular Season Champion Jets Rebound from A 3-2 Loss Wednesday Night.

“In the first round there were routes in which I really liked my game, just not in the results,” said Hellebuyck. “But I better dismantled it. I like it where we are. The team in front of me plays phenomenal, so we'll have fun. I just continue to have fun.”

Gabriel Vilardi and Nikolaj Ehlers scored early goals and Adam Lowry scored 3-0 in the second half. Ehlers added 3:40 to an empties that remained for a three-point night.

Game 3 is on Sunday in Dallas.

Hellebuyck was the star on Friday evening.

“It is what he does for us every evening,” said Josh Morrissey, who supported Vilardi's goal. “He is an incredible goalkeeper. He makes very difficult parades very simple, routine and often. You could see that he felt it tonight.”

Dalla's trainer Pete Deboer was also impressed by Hellebuyck.

“He was good,” said Deboer. “I think we can make it more and more difficult for him, but he was really good.”

Jake Oettinger stopped 21 shots for Dallas.

Vilardi opened the gate at a power play at 3:35 a.m. of the first period.

Tyler Seguin was called for a double mining minor for a high Morrissey Morrisy for only 17 seconds. Vilardi fell on Ehlers' rebound in the fold and pushed the puck into the net.

Ehlers followed at 7:07 a.m. and Lowry made it a three-goal lead with 8:58 in the second.

“Of course we would have liked to get two (victories), but we have to look at the big picture,” said Stars Cody Ceci defender. “It is a long series. It is a kind of what we expected against these boys – they are a good team.”
