The office of the Sheriff of Walton County examines the death of the inmate

Walton County, Florida (WJHG/WECP) – An investigation is underway after an inmate was no longer reacted to his cell in the Walton County prison on Sunday.

The inmate Jessie Raby was caught in custody in October 2024 in Holmes County after his arrest for murdering his family members.

According to the Sheriff office of the Walton County, security check was carried out every 30 minutes.

You say the last security check before Raby was not reacting, Raby was normal at 5:45 a.m. to act normally at this time.

We were told when breakfast was served about 15 minutes later, it was found on the floor and lay on the back.

Officials say that security protocols were persecuted and a team entered his cell. According to reports, a nurse also provided Raby. They say that the nurse found foreign bodies that blocked the airway of Rady and a cloth, a sock and a toilet paper from his airways.

The CPR was then started until Ems arrived and the care of Raby took over. Ems explained his death at 6:37 a.m.

Officials say that the incident was caught on surveillance cameras.

We were told that his family was notified.

The case is an autopsy, but civil servants believe that his death comes from his own actions.
