The emotional message from Gavin & Stacey Star Ruth Jones to James Cordon after Bafta win

Ruth Jones has gone away with the BAFTA for the female performance in comedy for her role from Nessa

Gavin & Stacey's star, Ruth Jones, had a warm message for her co-author James Cordon after picking up a BAFTA price. On Sunday, May 11th, she won the BAFTA at the ceremony with stars for her representation of Nessa in the Gavin & Stacey final.

The finale was observed by millions on Christmas Day 2024 – and even more people voted on the post -wood complex. Ruth from Bridgend writes the series with James Corden, who plays Smithy in the hit show.

When she started her acceptance speech as Nessa, she said: “I will not lie, that's immense.

“I hadn't expected to win that under any circumstances.

“I won a BAFTA as early as 1976.

“It was the Barry Arcade Fruity Technician Award and I was grateful for it, but that's the cracking.”

She exchanged her and added: “I really didn't expect to win this.” She thanked the line -up, the director, the crew and the production team and the BBC.

She gave James a special mention, became emotional and indicated that the couple could soon work together again.

Ruth said: “The person I want to thank the most is my dear, dear, talented, lovable, friendly, funny friend James Corden, with whom I have shared this amazing journey in the past 17 years and without which Nessa Shessa Jenkins would simply not exist.

While Ruth took home the award for female performance in a comedy, Gavin & Stacey missed the memorable moment for which the public was chosen.

Instead, Dianne Buswell and Chris McCauslands Waltz won that they will never go alone.
