Grief families speak out after tragic e-bike crash claimed the life of teen in Las Vegas

Two families mourn the loss of a teenager after another e-bike crash on Monday evening at Lake Mead and Jones.

A second teenager was injured in the crash and stays in the hospital.

The 16-year-old, who was killed, was identified as Alexander, and the other victim was identified by the police and the family as 18-year-old guadalupe Carlos Angel Chavez or Lupe Chavez.

Lup's mother told News 3 that he was operated on Tuesday in the early afternoon.

“My son is afraid of e-bikes, he is afraid of scooters, he saves, he works, he is a lifeguard, he works to get a car, and his friend just spoke to him to go home to go home to go with the e-bike.” His leg is broken, his arm is broken, he is in the operation because of his arm and many mental problems. ”

According to the Las Vegas metro police, both teenagers were on the e-bike when they fell against a ram car, and both drivers were thrown out of the e-bike.

In a press conference, the police said that the driver of the e-bike had ruthlessly driven, but finance steward said this was not the case.

“You cannot pop wheelies on an e-bike. If you have an e-bike, you know that. For the cameras and messages that say that they slam wheelies and wrinkled through vehicles, that's a lie,” said Fine-Stewart.

“If there is a stop sign, does not stop in California, make a complete stop, look in both directions when you see a bike, take precautions and make sure that the bike will stop in front of you. All of this could have been prevented if you were more careful and the driver was more careful,” said Finisson-Stewy. “Let her wear helmets until I understand the little boy collided with the windshield, and he had no helmet and he died from the impact.”

This latest crash comes when the Commissioners of Clark County examine the regulation of e-bikes and scooters in the middle of an increase in accidents.

The family has set up a gofundme for the funeral costs for the killed teenager. If you are interested in donations, you can click here.
