Family members who hopes to identify suspects in the slump in the Taylorsville, which was caught on video

Taylorsville family members and the police on Sunday hoped that someone could identify a man who was caught by surveillance cameras who tried to step into the door of a house and to steal several tools from dandruff in a fenced back yard.

Erica Walker said it happened to her family house on Friday at 8:00 p.m. when the surveillance video shared with KSL 5 showed a pickup track that was committed to the carport.

A stranger then climbs out of the truck and moves to the rear fence.

“(He) broke the fence and fell into the back yard,” said Walker. “There are two scales and he was both looking for things to steal.”

According to Walker, the unknown man stole tools with a sentimental value that once belonged to her grandfather.

She said he also tried to steal the lawnmower, but was unsuccessful in bringing it through the fence.

Before the man started, another camera conquered him and tried unsuccessfully to step through a side door.

At the time of the attempt to break into the main house, someone was at home, said Walker.

“It's terrifying and hurt,” she said. “You can imagine how you would feel when you are in your home what your sanctuary and your safe place should be, and then suddenly hear the sound of someone who is trying to break your door aggressively.”

Walker said she was sure about the man's motifs.

Taylorsville Police Sgt. Ryan Carver said detectives had not yet identified the man.

He said, based on what was captured by cameras, it was likely that the man had previously done something similar, and he said that the department sent the family's pictures and videos to other departments to see if a police recognized him.

Carver asked everyone to contact Taylorsville's police at 801-840-4000.
Walker said the family had offered an unknown reward for everyone who can identify the man and provide information that leads to an arrest.

“We just don't want this to happen to someone else,” said Carver. “Obviously we want our own justice and him to be arrested.”
