National Security Advisor from Sweden resigns after Grindr Images Leck | ICENEWS

Tobias Thyberg, Sweden's newly appointed national security advisor, has withdrawn less than 24 hours from taking over the position due to images after his profile pictures from the GrindR dating app have been passed on to the government.

The Thyberg took up the position on Thursday, May 8, and resigned on the morning of Friday, May 9, after the pictures were anonymously handed over to the government. It was announced that Thyberg had not revealed his profile for security back tests.

“These are old pictures from a report that I previously had on the dating site Grindr. I should have informed about it, but I didn't,” said Thyberg.

Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson mentioned that this information should have been discovered during the review process.

“It is a systemic mistake that this type of information was not brought up,” said Kristson.
