The Turkish couple sued the catamaran manufacturer after the near-death experience in the Caribbean

EXperienced Turkish seafarers Ozkan and Ozlem Sahin fulfilled a dream by sailing over the Mediterranean and Atlantic into the Caribbean on board their catamaran -Ozi. But her journey ended with a disaster off the coast of Puerto Velero, Colombia when her ship suddenly sank – an incident that you now blame for a serious manufacturing error.

According to Patronlar Dunyasi from Türkiye, the couple dramatically shared a video that initially shared a video with a soothing trailer of her safety. Months later they went to the stock exchange that caused the catastrophic downfall: an incorrect installation of the emergency window.

“We only had minutes”

In a detailed video, Ozkan Sahin explained the terrible chain of events that led to Ozi going down in just a few minutes.

“Dear friends, I finally explain why our catamaran has dropped. The emergency window on the baking side fell off and gave water in water. The boat was gone within three to four minutes,” he said.

The couple claims that the ship has no external damage and the incident is only due to poor production. They emphasized that they have concrete evidence of their allegations.

Global security warning

The Sahins are now warning other owners of similar catamarans to inspect their emergency windows immediately.

“This is a question of life and death,” said Ozkan. “If manufacturers and service providers have not taken any measures, the owners could be in great danger. Please do not assume that this cannot happen – check your escape windows now.”

Although the couple have not publicly named the manufacturer of the catamaran, there has been a lawsuit against the internationally known company in which they claim gross negligence.
