Remains of 30 people who were believed to be found by IS in Syria

Damascus, Syria – The remains of 30 people, which were assumed that they were killed by the militant Islamic state group, were found in a remote Syrian city in a search by Qatar -Search teams and the FBI, according to Katar on Monday.

The Qatarian internal security forces said the FBI had requested the search and that DNA tests are currently underway to determine the identity of the people. The Qatarian agency does not have to find who of the American Intelligence and Security Agency.

Dozens of foreigners, including helpers and journalists, were killed by militants who had checked large parts of Syria and Iraq for half a decade and had explained a so -called caliphate. The militant group lost most of its territory at the end of 2017 and was defeated in 2019.

Since then, dozens of gravesses and mass graves have been discovered in northern Syria, which kidnap the remains and bodies of humans, have been kidnapped over the years.

The American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff as well as the humanitarian workers Kayla Müller and Peter Kassig are among the killed IS.

John Cantlie, a British correspondent, was kidnapped in 2012 alongside foley and most recently seen alive in one of the propaganda videos of the extremist group in 2016.

The search took place in the city of Dabiq near the Syrian northern border to Türkiye.

Mass graves have also found in areas that were previously controlled by the Syrian President Bashar Assad, which was replaced in a lightning uprising last December and ended the rule of his family with half the century. For years, the Assads used their notorious security and secret services to act against dissidents, many who have disappeared.

The United Nations estimated in 2021 that over 130,000 Syrians were removed and disappeared during the uprising that began in 2011 and began in a 13-year civil war.
