Driver ticket for fuel spilling, accident that part of Thruway in Oneida County Castle

The driver who was involved in a tractor crash and caused a massive fuel spilling on the Thruway in Oneida County.

On Sunday, May 11th, at around 4:25 a.m., the state police reacted to the New York State Thruway in Ostbound in Mile Post Marker 238 in the city of Whitestown to get a vehicle crash.

The investigation showed that Janvier Ndagijimana, 30, from Sandy, Utah, had operated a 2025 freight liner when he met a jersey barrier and a guide rail in a work zone. As a result, the vehicle jackknife and between 50 and 75 gallons spilled diesel fuel.

Ndagijimana was rated on site by Ems and, according to a release from the state police, leaned transport to the hospital.

The fire brigade of West Moreland, the fire brigade of Whitesboro and the Hazmat team from Utica and the New York State Dec Spill Response team reacted to cleaning up. The Nys Thruway Authority and Nys Dot also answered.

Ndagijimana received several vehicles and tickets that can be returned to the Whitestown District Court.

Traffic to the east was closed for several hours and has been open again since then.
