The latest injury to Ethan Petry and Nathan Hall by Paul Mainieri

South Carolina was in a 5: 3 victory against Charleston Southern in a 5: 3 victory against Charleston Southern.

Star Slugger Ethan Petry, who missed the last three games after falling against the right wall of the Rightfield over the weekend in Kentucky, could look longer, possibly even for the rest of the season.

“He has what they call in their left shoulder as a tension of the alternating current,” said head coach Paul Mainieri. “It was such a damn injury, you know, when you watched the video of it, the ball took a kind of fun jump.

Mainieri said Petry's recovery time will be about two to four weeks. At three weeks in the regular season, he was able to easily put him on the shelf for the remaining 10 games. But Mainieri did not officially exclude him from returning later if he can heal in a shorter time frame.

“There is a good chance that it will be finished for the year,” said Mainieri. “But you know, maybe he could return to the last series or the Sec tournament. We have to see.”

When Petry's season is over, he will be in 43 games with 10 Homern and 34 RBI with 10 Homern and 34 RBI. He is currently leaving 10 homes to break Justin Smoak's career-all-time program record of 62. But that could be for his college career, since he will be considered for the MLB design this summer.

The other main injury is the leading striker Nathan Hall, who injured his heel in the wall in Texas A&M on April 11th. It is an injury that has apparently disrupted the leading hitter of the team since then.

“It has never disappeared completely, and it will probably not be until he rests it completely,” said Mainieri. “And last weekend Kentucky has an artificial lawn field and it is particularly difficult. There is no sand base.

“And about two thirds of the way through the game on Sunday I could see how he limp when he ran to Centerfield for a new inning. So I wasn't really surprised on Monday when he couldn't walk everything.”

Mainieri said Hall did not exercise the rest of the team on Monday. He thought about letting him pin it on Tuesday, but ultimately decided not to do this. In contrast to Petry, the head coach in the first year is more optimistic about Hall's chances of returning sooner than later.

“He does a stroke practice and everything. We only saw how it will feel in the next few days,” said Mainieri. “Hopefully you will rest with a few days and will feel better for him by Friday, and hopefully he can play.”

South Carolina will start a series with three games with the Florida Gators on Friday in Founders Park. The first pitch is at 7 p.m. in the Sec Network Plus.
